Hello everyone! I know we are all still working on aspects of our interviews for PIO, but I wanted to give you some info on how we are going to put together our digital stories. If you have time, check out the WeVideo site and play around with it to see how it works. It's pretty cool! You can check out some video tutorials (which I found super helpful) by clicking on the box below. Hopefully we can get interviews wrapped up this week and have some time to begin piecing together our digital stories. See ya'll soon!

If this project intrigues you, check out the work of Joseph Sargent Hall. Hall was born in Montana in 1906, and spent much of his life teaching. He was hired by Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 1937, just 3 years after the park was established, to record interviews with people who had been displaced. He was looking to make money to pay for graduate school, but he became enamored with the place and the people of the Smokies. You can listen to parts of these interviews and view transcripts here:
artsandsciences.sc.edu/appalachianenglish/transcripts.html Finally, we are getting into the "digital" aspect of digital storytelling! I know what we talked about in class is a lot to remember, so I'm posting the slideshow here and some links on the Resources page to help you in writing your interview questions and using the cameras and audio equipment. Don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions! I know ya'll are going to rock this project. Hey ya'll, Hope everyone had a good weekend! I brought in more books on Friday, and I wanted to make sure those of you that needed more resources had them. Below is a list of everyone's groups and the books you should look at to help with your papers (if you haven't checked them out already). If anyone is having trouble finding enough information to write your paper, please email me at [email protected]. I may be at a conference all week, but I can still help you out! It's only another week until spring break, so keep up the good work! Reminder: Please bring in your signed photo release forms this week.
